The list of NSTP’s top innovative startups under the Hatch 8 programme is finally out! It is sorted together so that potential employees, early-stage investors, and partners could benefit from it, as the companies might be hunting for new talent. The listed companies are sorted according to the degree of innovation integrated within them. When it comes to company metrics, there are plenty of different ways in which we use for ranking. The 15th Selection Board of Hi-Tech SMEs and Startups was held online on 30 Dec 2022 and the results were announced on March 1st, 2022. The selection board was chaired by Dr. Rizwan Riaz Vice President - National Science & Technology Park. Out of a total of 300 applications, 32x innovative startups were shortlisted for office space in the Cube8 programme of NSTP. The National Science and Technology Park held the Graduation Ceremony of the 2nd cohort of its Hatch 8 programme of 16 disruptive startups at the main campus of the National University of Sciences & Technology. Hatch 8 programme is a 6-month pre-incubation program of #NSTP, which is designed to take in entrepreneurs in the idea stage of their product development and transform them into viable businesses. NSTP tenant, Turkish Aerospace Industries, will be establishing a high-tech lab at SINES, NUST University. Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) an industrial giant in the Defence Aviation sector signed an agreement with the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) for the establishment of a high-tech lab at NUST Interdisciplinary Cluster for Higher Education (NICHE). Islamabad: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) signed an agreement with a multinational consortium led by International Consulting Associates (ICA) for the development and expansion of National Science & Technology Park (NSTP) at NUST H-12 campus, Islamabad, during an auspicious ceremony on 14th July, 2021. We are thrilled to introduce Dr Rizwan Riaz as our new Vice President, who will be spearheading #NSTP through the next stage of our journey. He is a distinguished graduate of the Colorado Springs, United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Masters from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan. He went on to obtain Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Computational Fluid Dynamics) from The University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Dr Salman Raza Naqvi (Associate Professor NUST School of Chemical & Materials Engineering and Director National Science & Technology Park) in collaboration with Dr Jiawei Wang (Senior lecturer, Department of Chemical engineering and Applied Chemistry, Aston University) has won 12,000 GBP (2.8 Million PKR) research grant for the project, “The application of machine learning in the chemical recycling of plastic waste”.
