During the second week of RSSC, over 70 entrepreneurs partook in the programme, with 50+ participants in Lahore and 25+ in Peshawar, who thoroughly enjoyed the sessions starting with ice-breaker activities on day one. The National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) and U.S. Embassy, Pakistan have successfully organized the orientation event for the Rising Stars Startup Competition, aimed at empowering women and minority groups with innovative business ideas. The National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) SEZ committee approved the entry applications of three new firms in its third meeting. The firms will have significant FDI that will boost the confidence of foreign investors in Pakistani tech startups. The National Science & Technology Park at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), has signed an MOA with the OPEN Silicon Valley to support and promote the growth of Pakistani startups at a global level. The agreement was signed between Dr Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector RIC (NUST) & VP NSTP, and Junaid Qurashi, President of OPEN Silicon Valley. Under the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate in the areas of Science, Technology and Entrepreneurship, as well as Human Resource Development through upskilling and knowledge sharing. UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi visited National Science & Technology Park (NSTP) at #NUST Islamabad Campus on January 26, 2023. Leading Turkish Cyber Security firm, PENTECH BİLİŞİM TEKNOLOJİLERİ SANAYİ VE TİCARET LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ (PENDC) headquartered at Ovaakça Education District, has signed an agreement with #NSTP for opening R&D center at the park. Pakistan’s first STP, the National Science &Technology Park, in collaboration with US Embassy, has launched the Rising Stars Startup Competition for Minorities at NUST.   The launching of the Startup Competition was part of the Hatch 8 Cohort 3 graduation ceremony held at NSTP on the 22nd of December. The National Science &Technology Park at NUST held the Graduation Ceremony of the 3rd cohort of its Hatch 8 programme at the NUST main campus on Thursday.
