NSTP tenant, Turkish Aerospace Industries, will be establishing a high-tech lab at SINES, NUST University.
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) an industrial giant in the Defence Aviation sector signed an agreement with the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) for the establishment of a high-tech lab at NUST Interdisciplinary Cluster for Higher Education (NICHE). The signing ceremony was held at RIC, NUST. Dr Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector RIC & VP NSTP, and Mr. Sohail Sajjid, Country Head – TAI signed the agreement on behalf of respective parties.
The aim of establishing this lab is to develop new technologies for the future of the aviation ecosystem between Pakistan and Turkey and is going to be one of a kind facility in Pakistan. The lab will host design/analysis and research for joint projects, Intellectual Property Training leading to technology transfer.
Turkish Aerospace is the center of excellence in design, development, modernization, manufacturing integration, and life cycle support of integrated aerospace systems from fixed and rotary wing air platforms to unmanned aerial systems and satellites ranking among the global players in the aerospace and defense industry. Turkish Aerospace gives utmost importance to the establishment of a sustainable, constructive, and mutually beneficial partnership in defense and aerospace industries between Pakistan and Turkey in line with the unconditional friendship and brotherhood between the two nations.
The agreement signing ceremony was also attended by Dr. Salman Raza Naqvi, Director – NSTP, Dr. Hammad Cheema, Principle Dean – RIMMS, and Mr. Kamran Ashraf, Manager Projects – NSTP.
Dr. Salman Naqvi expressed his delight on this occasion. He said, “establishment of such high-tech labs will strengthen the already powerful innovation ecosystem of NUST University”.
